Water Resistant SOIL BASES

TerraSil and ZycoBond are easy to apply soil modifiers that reduces water permeability and improves maximum dry density (MDD) & flexibility of the soil bases.

TerraSil permanently modifies the soil surface, making it hydrophobic. It chemically converts the water absorbing hydroxyl groups to water resistant alkyl groups. ZycoBond is a nano-polymer that chemically binds soil particles together into a flexible cross-linked network, thereby improving the load bearing capacity and flexibility of the soil bases.

It also complements conventional soil additives like cement and lime by eliminating the degradation of the cementatious bonds thus increasing durability. This innovative solution improves the strength (CBR) and stability of the locally available soils, thus offering a cost effective method for road construction.

TerraSil and ZycoBond is mixed in situ with the soil as a part of the water of compaction (OMC Water). Due to their ability to be introduced through water, the solution mixes and distributes into the soil extremely efficiently. The application as water solution helps to avoid dusting issues. Furthermore, the low dosage rates of TerraSil and ZycoBond significantly reduces the transportation costs to site.
